Is there a limit to the number of patch cable I can use between 2 100 FX switches ?
I know that every time you add a connector you loose some of the signal strength. Is 600 feet and 6 patch too much ?

The only limit is attenuation. I think MMF connections lose 0.5 db per patch point, so 6 patches = 5 non transceiver patch points = about 2.5 db + the loss on the cable. I don;t think you'll have an issue, but I would recommend you put and optical power meter on the link and see what your real loss is.

Thanks for the info.
The fiber is not installed yet. I was asking the question before I do the install.
