IS WS-G5484 the same part as 15454-GBIC-SX?

My logistics group needs confirmation that the WS-G5484 and 15454-GBIC-SX reference the same part.

Hi,

these are two different products and are also different labeled. It's recommended from Cisco to use only the 15454-GBIC with ONS systems. But we use also the normal G5484 since several years also in the 15454 and have no problem. By the way, the 15454-GBIC will go end of sale next month. So order the new serie ONS-GC-GE. We are running in to a problem getting traffic through an ethernet link over SONET (ONS 15454). We are using the G1K-4 cards and the WS-G5484 GBIC's. We are not able to ping across. We thought that maybe it is a problem with the GBIC not being a 15454-GBIC-SX. If that's not the issue, do you have other insite?
