Currently I'm design a network for IP Cameras, but they want to use the existing fiber, which is multimode 62.5/125um fiber.
So I selected SG300-28SFP + MFEFX1.
But MFEFX1 with 62.5/125um fiber, could go for how far?

Diameter of the core will affect the transmission distance.
Here it is 62.5 microns, so attenuation of light along the fiber will be more, i think 3dB/km.
If diameter of core is around 9 microns, attenuation will be less, 0.25dB/Km.

Micrometer affect the distance but another factor is the speed as MFEFX1 is 100M. Since the speed is just 100M it can go upto 2Km.
Once you increase 100M to 1G, 10G.. distance keep decreasing.
Like for 10G can only go upto 25-30m on a 62.5/125MMF instead of 2Km.

upto 2Kms.

So the µm diameter doesn't affect the distance? Because one of the re-seller told me 62.5/125 multimode couldn't reach that far.
