MX250 10 gbps uplink

We are upgrading out internet connection to 10 gbps.   Which uplink transceiver will we need for a fiber connection?

Do you mean SFP?

if the provider offering Multi-Mode fiber 10G-SR 0r 10G-SR-S can works for you, (i prefer 10G-SR)

If the provider offers a single mode - 10G-LRM you need.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

It is multi-mode. SFP is for 1 gig. SFP+ is for 10 gig.
Does it have to be a cisco transceiver? or can I use a finisar ?

So provider side they replacing 1G to 10G right?

I have not tried 3rd party, since if you Log a ticket with TAC and TAC see 3rd party SFP in the device, they do not support for the issue.

but I believe it should work as per I know ( never tested as mentioned)

Thank you. I have some Finisar on hand and will give those a try. If they
do not perform well I will order some Meraki transceivers

They work as expected, have tested some in cisco Switches, but you see some logs, we can ignore it.
