We in our network had conventional circuits ,we have stm-1 installed at 7200 router which supports 63 e1 channels,we are using 5 e1 channels for 5 locations,all these were conventional copper links where g.703 and v.35 modems were used.Recently these links were to be changed to OFC (last mile is OFC now,earlier it was copper),now there is no modem involved and the fibre is terminnated directly at cisco 2821 router gi0/0 using fibre to electrical convertor  ,but the protocol does not come up.

What model interface cards are installed in the 7200 and 2821 routers that are interconnected?  Are there SFPs installed in these cards (what type)?  What type of fiber is interconnecting the routers (singlemode or multimode fiber)?  What are the approximate distances of the fiber links?
