Our new cores to replace the dual 6509s will only have fiber module cards installed.
I was only going to use 40/100 Gb cards but may add the 1/10/25 card only because of a couple of copper 1Gb connections that I want in the core directly and not in a switch stack attached to the core.
I know I can bump a 40 Gb down to a 10Gb with a CVR but I doubt it will bump down to a 1Gb speed with any available converters.
If I install a 1/10/25 optic card I am assuming I can put a few of the 1Gb twist pair optics like the GLC-T into the slots.
My question is this...does the GLC-T only run at FD or does it autonegotiate? I no longer remember since I haven't use them in a long time. Any other options?
