I'd like to use Cisco BLE.
I don't know how to configure CCW.
Which AP should I use?
Do you need an AP Controller?
Should I use both PI and CMX?
Please tell me how to order if I use BEACON with 300 APs.

First of, there are several APs that support BLE and they are:

  • 1540 (outdoor AP);
  • 1800i, 1810, 1815i, 1815m, 1815w; and
  • 4800

For the APs, please be aware of PoE requirement.  4800, for example, will require 32.0w.

Next, you'll need a controller that can support 8.7.X.X and later.  That could either be 3504, 5520 or 8540.

You'll need Prime Infrastructure, CMX and Cloud CMX account.  All are mandatory.   CMX and Cloud CMX are totally different things.  PI, CMX and Cloud CMX must all be ready or BLE won't work.

I strongly recommend you contact your Cisco AM/SE or wireless PSS.
