7960+7914 "not supported" status

Hello,

I have connected a 7914 expansion module to 7960. All the buttons are red and the module status is showing as "not supported" on the phone.

Any ideas?

Under the 7960 programming did you add the expansion module?

Odd, I have never seen that error message. Have you upgraded firmware on the 7960? Maybe the 7914 needs a firmware update to synch back up with the 7960 firmware? Is this a new installation or older?

Yes, its the latest one...Looks to me like AUX connection is broken or something like that

You need to upgrade the firmware on the 7914 while it is attached to a 7960 with an older firmware image and then upgrade the 7960.

"If you are using the Cisco IP Phone 7914 Expansion Module, you must upgrade the Expansion Module to firmware release S00104000100 before you install the 6.0(5) Cisco IP Phone 7960/7940 phone load. You can download the installation program, which is named cmterm-7914-sccp.4-0-1.exe, from Cisco.com at the same location as the installer for the 6.0(5) software. For more information about this firmware release, download the cmterm-7914-sccp.4-0-1-Readme.htm ."
