ATA Devices

We are currently running call manager 4.2 and are looking at deploying ATA devices for the first time. I would like to know how easy these are to configure and how well they work with fax machines.

Dianna,

ATAs are very easy to configure, basically like a phone. The ports will appear as phones in CCM. I have heard of mixed results with fax machines. However, we have been using ATAs with fax for a number of years. You'll just want to be sure that your voice circuit is clean - no slips, errors, that you're not trying to send fax across the WAN using something other than g.711 and that your fax machines are not trying to send at high speeds. I've had good success limiting speeds to 9600 or 14400.
