AvCsMgr fails to start after install of 3.0.2

We are installing a unified messaging solution with CCM 3.1.2c and an existing exchange 2000 cluster. After running the unity configuration tool, the AVCsMgr fails to start and can not be started manually. We have verified that the unity service account has the proper rights (logon as a service, and act as part of the OS). We are also seeing the "failure audit" event in the event log under security. Privs that are failing are seINCREASEBASEPriorityPrivilege. Please advise. Thanks!<br><br>

What errors are in the event application log?

I am having an engineer send them to me as we speak. I uninstalled Unity and reinstalled it and verified that it was operational with the TSP, CCM, etc.. I then proceeded to integrate Unity with the directory and got the same results. I will send the errors from the app log as soon as I get them. Thanks again for all your help!

Are you trying to connect Unity right to the virtual cluster? If so, this wont work and is not supported. You need to attach us to an Exchange server outside the cluster itself. All your users can (and presumably are) homed within the cluster but Unity cannot attach directly to it.

These errors are pretty straight forward... we're trying to log into the Unity Messaging System account (the guy we send all unknown caller messages to subscriber from) and the MAPI sub system is giving us an error. This usually means the Unity Messaging System account and/or message profile isn't configured properly or the rights on the services Unity is using to attempt the log in aren't sufficient to pull it off.

to be clear, you can't hook Unity directly up to a cluster (this sounds like what you were trying to do?). This will always fail. You need to hook us up to an Exchange server external to the custer itself. All your users can be homed on the cluster, no problem there but the server we connect to as our "bridgehead" to the Exchange message store needs to be outside the cluster.
