Bit Masking ?

In Configuration menu there is a field called "Polarity" which is represented in Hex i.e. 0x00000000 (Defails value) If I have to mask bit 2 (Mask 0x400) and bit 3 (Mask 0x800) what will be the value.

i dont't know the menu you talk about, but :

ANDing them gives 0x0 = 0

ORing them gives 0xC00 = 12*256 = 3072
