C2620 with BRI S/T TE, a-law - u-law problem

Hello,

I configured a 2620 router with BRI S/T TE and NM-2V voice module for VoIP applications using H.323 gateway and gatekeeper. The router runs with IOS 12.2(3).

When estabishing a call from a H.323 phone to the ISDN network the Q.931 SETUP message is encoded u-law in the Bearer Capability information element although the H323 phone generated the call with a-law and the dial-peer voice voip was configured for codec g711alaw.

The "sh voice dsp" shows "g711alaw". In European ISDN a-law is required.

Could anybody give me advice. Thanks

Hallo

CSCdv00152

A Cisco 2600 or 3600 series router that is running Cisco IOS Release 12.2(3) does not support the compand-type a-law command in voice-port configuration mode on the Command Line Interface (CLI) for a Basic Rate Interface (BRI) port. Therefore, it is not possible to configure the Cisco 2600 or 3600 series router to work with Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) BRI port with a-law. There is no workaround.

Fixed in :

12.2(4.1) 12.2(4.1)S 12.2(4.1)PI 12.2(5.2)T 12.2(4.02a)DA
