Hello there,
I've been trying to get a Cisco VIC-2FXO-M2 to see the ANI. Now as I understand from the documentation I've read, what I am looking for is CLIP, and not CLID (Caller ID). This part is a little confusing to me.
Below is the part that configures the voice port on the 2600 platform I have:
voice-port 1/0/0
supervisory disconnect dualtone mid-call
no battery-reversal
echo-cancel coverage 16
cptone NL
timeouts interdigit 8
timeouts call-disconnect 5
timeouts ringing 30
timeouts wait-release 5
connection plar opx XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
description Analog connection
busyout monitor ATM0/0
caller-id enable
My intention is to have it connect to a ATA186 which will have a pots phone connected.
However, the calling party is never displayed, so I think I'm making an error here. As you can see cptone is configured for the country where the router resides.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?
Cheers,
Michel

Check whether the IOS in the router has the caller ID feature. I think that might be the issue

Thanks for responding;
The IOS releases I've tried this on are most of the 12.3 release train and a few in the 12.2T release train;
According to a document here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1835/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00800ca7df.html
it should have been supported from release 12.1(3)T and up.
Mind, I'm in the Netherlands and from what I've read a reasonably obscure CLIP protocol is used (seems to be used only in Finland and the Netherlands).
I've been trying to play with the settings to see if the caller id is received if I wait for a couple of rings. No results....
This is what the "debug vpm signal" setting shows:
