Will anybody know of a way to backup CCM fully & consecutively on the same tape without the previous days being erased?

Moreover is there a third party apps for backups that the TAC supports?

You can't do a backup in 3rd party utility. You can do a backup consecutively on the same tape tape without erasing the previous day

This functionality is currently not available as per the caveat in the above document. However, cisco has acknowledged this hitch and it will be addressed in CCM 4.0.

Note Each time a backup is performed, the new backup file overwrites the existing MCS.tar file. If you want to retain previous backup data, you must archive or rename the existing MCS.tar file before the next backup is performed. If you rename the MCS.tar file, do not use any spaces in the new filename. If you move the MCS.tar file to another location, make sure you store it in a folder path that does not contain spaces.
