Hi,

I just want to confirm, if we can do RTP compression on VoIP traffic going out of Ethernet interface.

I think it's not possible ! I would like to have wider opinion on the same.

Regards

Prakash

Not to my knowledge. Don't think there is a need to cut 12-14k on a 10mb interface. This is more for low speed links.

Thank you,

I tried it in my lab and when you type in the command:

ip rtp header-compression

You get the following message:

RTP Header compression not supported for this encapsulation

Thanks,

-Kevin

I think u r absolutely right. Also when in rtp compressed packet in put on ethernet the packet structure will change & won't probably confirm of 802.x.

Thanks for clarity !
