Can you use a Touch Screen Monitor for video conference? (DIY WebEx Board)

Some body wants to plug the room kit into a Samsung QBH-TR Series 75 and have the content sharing on the conference so remote people can see the markup. They know remote people will not be able to mark up. They said that it works with their current Lifesize video conference rig. Will the screen being shared from the room computer be able to be edited during a conference if this kind of monitor is one of the displays connected to a Cisco codec?

Not if the display is plugged into the codec as an output. It would have to be connected as an input so the marked up content can be transmitted.

thank you. it is probably not an option to disconnect the monitor from the PC, because then the content to be marked up will be on the PC.

Maybe it will only work of they share the content to webex, not direct to video systems or on premise call?

If you mirror the output from the PC connected to the Board, both to the Board and to one of the TelePresence unit content inputs, then you should be able to see what is being displayed and marked up on both the Board and also at the far end of a video call.  Most PCs can be set to mirror the display to two video outputs, or worst case, you may need to put a 2-way HDMI DA in between the PC and the two output devices (the Board and the TelePresence unit).

Thank you too. It looks like the touch screen cannot be a monitor for the conference and touchable to share data in the conference at the same time. It could be a monitor for the PC, then PC would share to the codec, but the marked up content will appear twice on the room in a video conference.

So my understanding is the only way to make it work is to have the touch screen use two inputs. First input is from the PC and PC has two video cards. PC has duplicate display so the touch display and VC system get the same image during a conference. Second Touch Screen input is the VC system first monitor output or maybe "Presentation Only" setting.

When presenter is in Touch screen room, video conference system needs to be configured to only show remote people during the video conference. Otherwise when the screen is shared, the remote people will squish down and content will appear twice.

When remote people share into conference somebody in the room needs to switch touch screen input so video system goes back to using two outputs.

Is there a way to configure one VC system screen so it does not display shared content when the content is shared from the main room? There is a "Presentation Only" setting. How about a "Remote Participant Only" configuration?

Is this even a workable idea?
