CCM Sim

I know this is somewhat dated, but does anyone have experience with the CCM sim that is included in the SDK?

I took some 7940s out of the box fresh (so we don't have a firmware issue) and connected them to a small network with a CCM sim on it. They registered fine with the Sim, but they can't call each other. The "New Call" icon is greyed out, and when you try and dial the other phone that is registered nothing happens.

Can anyone please help on this? Just trying to setup a small CCM network for a lab. My associate is studying for his CCNA and I want to use the phones as demo hosts on the network - but it would be great if the phones were able to call each other.

The CM Simulator is used for development of phone services only. It does not provide any call processing functionality.

Yes, that's what I thought - but the book "Developing IP Phone Services" and the tech doc does indicate it provides "Limited station to station calling." And, I've had it work before!
