Do I need to up grade Call Manager to 10.2 for the cisco 8845 phones to work?

Yes, you would need to upgrade to 10.5(2) to add support for the 8845 as shown below;

You'll also need to either install a DevPack, or upgrade to the latest 10.5(2)SU which has native support for it, you probably want to just upgrade to the latest SU and avoid the DevPack
