CM with AD lookups painfully slow

Have a Install of 4.1 integrated with AD.

When looking up users it takes forever.

We are using users in the top level parent domain as search base.

Any IDEAs apprecited.

Also is it possible to us the global catalog server and port 3268 TCP for in the configuration ?

LDAP Referrals can delay due to DNS/Hosts file switching.

We have this same problem and the sniffer trace shows that each LDAP query is getting referred to ever Domain Controller in the forest. Some of these are international. Can you please go into more detail on what you mean with DNS/Hosts file switching?

What is your user base DN. I've found that when I leave it at teh root of the AD forest things take forever.
