Hi there.
I would like to know if it is possible and how to configure an IP phone to automatically dial an external number as soon as the handset is picked up.
Thanks in advance.

Juan,
Tested this using IPCommunicator.
Configured IPCommunicators first line as follows.
(*** Make sure you configure first line as intercom line****)
ephone-dn 1
number 5000
intercom 7000
num-exp 7000 92142322332
When I go off hook (Press speaker phone, press new call soft key or push the line button), it dials 7000. So thats equivalent to going off hook using the handset.
So my first solution should work.
Scrub my second solution, as that wont work!

Not sure if it will work for external numbers.
ephone-dn 1
number 5000
intercom 4000
num-exp 4000 92142222323
ephone 1
button 1:1
or else you may try this.
ephone-dn 1
number 92142322333
ephone 1
button 1m1

Hi Sankar.
I think the first configuration suggested dials the number if you press the button, not if the user pickup the phone (off hook).
Regarding the second alternative, I understand it will monitor the indicated number, but I don't understand how it will dial the number when it is off hook
Cheers.

True..
**** This solution below wont work**** ignore this..
With the second solution, try this..
ephone-dn 1
number 2000
call-forward all 92142223232
ephone 1
button 1m1
I have not tested this config!

Hi Sankar.
At first it didn't work, I heard silence after offhook, but I added the following command and it now works as required
ephone 7
auto-line 1
Thanks a lot for your help.
