Comfort Noise

I am having some issues with static and hissing on a PRI.

The Gateway is MGCP and I have checked the following:

1. "no mgcp vad"

2. Obviously there is no VOIP dial-peer with MGCP so no place to put "no vad"

3. Silence Suppression disabled on CCM side.

Another question I have, if you have "no vad" on a VOIP dial-peer on an h.323 gateway but you don't have "no comfort-noise" on the voice-port, will you still have issues?

I don't think you will have any major issues if you have "no vad" on a VOIP dial-peer on an h.323 gateway but you don't have "no comfort-noise" on the voice-port.

I hope that you were able to get this fixed, but if you weren't by any chance; go into the voice-port and add these two lines:

no vad

no comfort-noise
