Hi all

Hope you can help!

We have the following setup:

Cisco 7835 MCS Server

DMM - Cisco 7835 MCS Server

SaS - Cisco 7835 MCS Server

MXE3500

External Web Server Spec

Virtual Server

2Gb RAM

1 x CPU 2400Mhz 4 Core

Fibre Channel Disks

We use HTTP progressive download with SaS being the front end player and having the extenral web server using IIS as a web server to host FLV video content. The video content is set at the following:

Format: Flash video 9 (.flv)
Maximum combined audio and video Bitrate: 500 kbps
Frame rate: 30 fps
Maximum height: 268 pixels
Maximum width: 480 (for 16x9 ratio), 360 (for 4:3 ratio)

File size 25 MB

We ran a stress test yesterday by asking 150 users to click on a specific video at a specific time, 90% of our users reported juddering and problems viewing the video.

Does anyone know what kind of conurrent connections this enviroment should be able to handle?

Many Thanks

Adam

Hi,

Has anyone used Show and Share with HTTP progressive downloads? and if so have you found there is a limit to the number of concurrent connections?

Many Thanks

Adam

Hi Daniel,

In this type of scenario, most of the performance specs should be depending on the external web server rather than on the Show and Share box.

Do you see any difference if you run the same load test accessing the external server directly rather then passing through the Show And Share portal?

Regards,

Marco
