I have 3 1760 voice gateways and I want to know how many calls each one is handling. I have the feeling that 2 are used pretty consistently while one occasionally has to wake up and do some work. Is there monitoring I can do and can that be done at the call manager?

You can use perfmon (the standard windows tool) to monitor counters (and configure it to log them to CSV or whatever if you wish)... You can get at the same counters using RTMT, which is easier to browse through the counters to find the one you want.
The counter is someting like H323 (or MGCP) Gateway/Calls Active and there will be an instance per configured gateway...
