CUCM IP Phone Self Provisioning - 6 digit dial plan vs 10-digit dial plan

I am architecting self-provisioning on CUCM 10.5 with a 6-digit dial plan.  Is it possible to architect self-pro with a 6-digit dial plan?  Or is it more advantageous to architect with a 10-digit dial plan?  I have been unable to find any documentation on 6-digit dial plans and self-pro.  Any documentation would be appreciated.

You can use whatever dial plan and number of digits you want with self-provisioning.
