Here is the setup.
We have CM 3.2.3 (Publisher and Subscriber) ES08 with Unity 3.1.3.
Example Phone Setup:
Extension 1001 has the "Forward No Answer" option selected to forward to Extension to 1002. A call to Ext 1001 is placed, no answer so the call rolls to extension 1002. No answer again so the call is sent to the Voice Mail of subscriber with the extension of 1001 instead of 1002. I would assume the subscriber with the 1002 extension would have the call sent to its voice mail since the original call ended at the 1002 extension. Is this a bug in the design or how the system is supposed to be setup since the call originated on 1001?
Any ideas?
Thanks

This is by design. Unity will use the "originalCalledParty" portion of the Skinny StationCallInfoMessage as the forwarded party. In the scenario above, that ID will be the ID of Extension 1001. If you were to continue the forwarding chain several phones out, Extension 1001 would still be the forwarding party.
As a caller I think it would be confusing to call one extension and the wind up getting the voice mail of another, especially without knowing that first phone was forwarded.
Changing this could be pursued as a PERS. Your account team should be able to help with that.
