How can I do a factory reset to my DMS 5.1

Karla Lopez

Hi guys!:

I have a DMS 5.1 for demo and each time you do a demo you make different configurations to the devices. Is there a way to do a factory reset to DMM and Video Portal instead to remember each change that you made? I really appreciate your help! Thank you!

Karla,

I am sorry.  I spoke out of place. The VMware images are to be used for

internal use only.  VMware images cannot be upgraded.  You must have

the VMware install disks for each DMS version.

So it looks like a fresh install will be need each time you want to do

a Demo for a different customer or simply delete what you configured

for prior customer or set a template demo to use for all customers..

If you need to get the iso image for 5.1 to perform fresh installs, please

contact your local Cisco sales team or Account representative.

Thanks

T.

Sorry, no magical button...

It is called Re-Install the DMM & CVP images from DVD.  The problem

with this is make sure you have your License File backup to re apply each

time...

Another solution for DEMOs is use the VMware Images for DMM & CVP.

Since this is a DEMO and not production, you should be able to do everything

you need.   This way you will have the VIRTUAL appliances from either the

install point or a BASE Template.   Save the VM disks in a safe place and

then use each time you need to setup a DMM.

This may work better for DEMOs...

Cheers!

Hi!:

Thank you for your answer. Do you know from where I can download a VM with DMS 5.2? If I try to install DMS 5.1 (to do the upgrade to 5.2 later because I just have DMS 5.1 bootable) in VM, the installer says that is not a valid hardware and stops the intallation. So, is there a way to download a VM in DMS 5.2?? Thank you in advance!

Regards,

Karla
