Solved: How to Block Incoming Number on a 2811 4port FXO

Hi All,

First time I have tried to use the Support Community. I have a Customer that is getting calls from a specific number and I wanted to know is there a way to Block a specific number on FXO Ports. The Router is a Cisco 2811 with VIC2-4port FXO. Also this is a MGCP Gateway. Can this be done some how in CLI or is there a solution on Call Manager which is 8.6.1 at the moment.

What version of CUCM do you use? If you have 8.x or newer you can use the route by calling number feature in translation pattern to block calls from a specific number.

Search the CSC for this and you will find posts that discusses how to set this up.

what about ECC (External Call Control) at CUCM to use in such case?

I can recomend 2Ring PHONE SERVICES for such purposes. There is a feature available which can control the call flow. In other words, it should resolve your need.

This cannot be done on MGCP, the supported method for this is to use H.323 and use translation profiles, see:

When using MGCP, you can only use the 'called number' as CUCM does not use the 'calling number' for digit manipulation.

The requiremen to block selected incomming/Outgoing calls to CUCM can be achieved using MARS Intellicall Application for CUCM ( based on CUCM CURRI)
