How to do a password recovery for a DMP 4400G?

Hi guys!:

I have a DMP that was in use but now I need to do some changes and we don't have the login information (username and password). I already try with the reset "button" but nothing happened, is there a way to do a factory reset through console port? Thank you in advance and have a nice day.

Morning Karla,

The hard reset on teh DMP-4400 should have worked - Lets try it out one more time as follows :

1)     Make sure the DMP is connected to the DHCP enabled LAN and Powered on.

2)     Turn the DMP around and locate the “Reset” button on the back panel.

3)   Take a sharp object (such as a Pen, etc) and press the reset button.

4)     Here is the key - Keep the reset button pressed for at-least 20 seconds,  release the reset button. At this point you should see both the LEDs solid

5)   Wait for 10-15 seconds - At this point the DMP is restored to factory default.

6)     Try connecting to the DMP usinghttp://> or https:// depending on the code version 5.0/5.1 or 5.2.x

7) The default credentials for 5.0 and 5.1 DMp firmware is admin/default and for 5.2.x firmware is admin/Cisco123

hi.

I have a DMP 4400G that was registered on a DMM5.2 version, and i want to upgrade the DMP version to a 5.3 software.

The issue is I dont have the credential to get into the DMP via web, i dont know the ip address, so, i think i should do a hardware reset.

I did the procedure above for the factory reselt but it seems not working. I have the DMP connected to a LCD and nothing appears.

What else can I do?

Few Questions :

What happens when you reboot the DMP ?

Do you see a Cisco Splash screen on the TV ?

What is the status of the LEDs on the front panel (right side) - Are the LEDS solid RED and GREEN ?

Do you know if the LAN is DHCP enabled ?

Was this DMP working fine before you resetted it ?

If both the LEDs are solid lit, that indicates that the DMP is unable to get a DHCP address. Have you unplugged the DMP and tried it on a different LAN ? Possibly with different cable ?

How long did you keep the reset button pressed ?

I  missed to connect the LAN cable. By the moment I did it, the DMP start to display the home screen.
