Dear All,

I'm trying to Configure IP Communicator on using "optimize for Low-Bandwidth".

What has to be enabled on CCM or at the SRST in order to achieve internal and external calls?

Thanks,

YV

you will have to configure CCM to have IPC as a phone device, just as any other phone.

there are also a few SRST steps.

please see the following links for IPC/CCM configuration and IPC/SRST configuration:

deploying IPC for CCM -

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps5475/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00805f086a.html#wp1063698

setup IPC for SRST -

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2169/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00806674c5.html#wp1350234

IPC maintenance & operation guides -

Maybe i did not specify the problem again.

I have a problem only when i'm setting "oprimize for low-bandwidth" from IPC and cannot make external calls .I think it's a transcoder problem or media termination configuration and this is what i'm trying to find out.

The codec IP Communicator uses depends on:

- Conversation with another terminal in a different region -> configuration at the Call Manager, the same like any other endpoint.

- Conversation with a terminal in the same region -> g729 if you've checked the "Optimize for low bandwidth" option.

If the problem is only with external calls it could be that the IPC only can use g711 with the gateway, check this point: region and codec used at the IPC and at the gateway.
