Is it possible to have the phone ring through the headset port only when the phone is idle? This ability was requested for a high density callcenter where phone rings are distracting and where agents use a dual earpiece headset.

On the CCMAdmin go to Device --> Phone, select the phone were you want to apply this change. Then go to each of the lines.
Under Line Settings for this Device you should see these settings:
Ring Setting (Phone Idle)
Ring Setting (Phone Active)**
You can select between flash only, beep, ring, ring once for each line.

Thanks for your response. I hqave looked at that option but that will not stop the phone ring when it is idle. It will still sound through the phone speaker.
This is a common function with other popular Callcenter products, except Cisco and IPCC. Also, having the callcenter application 'whisper' information through the headset as a phone ring is common also, but not with Cisco and IPCC.

Choosing flash only should omit any audio notification and only present visual indication of an inbound call.

True, but an audible alert is still wanted, but only in the headset. I will contact our CAM and forward the feedback to them.
