There are three ways to record with the IPTV servers.
You can create a new program in the IPTV content manager and then create a new recording to record that program.
You can create a new program with the IPTV content manager and select record only in the program setup page.
Or, you can record directly using the MPEG Composer application provided with the capture card in the server. This third method bypasses the IPTV application and is good for direct recording of MPEG files. The app should be installed and should auto-detect the S-Video input, but you may have to go to the configuration options screen to set the audio and video encoding that you want, but otherwise it's pretty straightforward. There is a panel that is similar to a VCR control to start the recording. I believe you have to specify the Target File before beginning the recording - only gotcha that I can recall.
