I added a webex license to my account but at this step I got an error like this. Can you help me? How can I manage my own license that is not related to my existing organization?

@gtstech. The error occurs because your license was assigned to Organization ID 55, but your account isn't a member. To manage a license independently:

  1. Remove organization ties:
  • Contact Cisco Support and request to: Disassociate ur license from Organization ID 55 adn move it to a personal account.

2. Alternative self-service option:

  • Create a brand new Webex account using a personal email
  • Purchase a new license under this account
  • Ask support to transfer your existing license to this new account

3. if u need immediate access; Request ur organization/company admin to either add u as a member with admin rights or release the license back to ur control...

but dont forget that Webex licenses are organization, bound by default. Complete separation requires either admin cooperation or Cisco Support intervention....

@Enes Simnica This is a new license, why is it tied to this organization?

@Enes Simnica

I situation is understood as follows:

The parent company has a Webex organization and has already verified the domain: abc@com.vn (with Webex licenses assigned).

The subsidiary uses an email account 123@com.vn and recently purchased a new Webex license.

When the subsidiary tries to activate the license, an error occurs because Webex automatically links the account to the parent company's organization.

Goal: The subsidiary wants to use 123@com.vn to manage their own Webex license independently from the parent company.

@gtstech. This situation occurs because Webex automatically associates all accounts under a verified domain (@com.vn) with the existing organization. Even though ur subsidiary purchased a new license, the system links it to the parent company's organization since they control the domain.

To achieve true independence for the subsidiary, we need to establish separate domain ownership. The cleanest solution would be for the subsidiary to verify their own subdomain (like team.com.vn) in Webex Control Hub. This creates a new organizational boundary while maintaining your professional email format.

Alternatively, if creating a subdomain isn't possible, you have two options:

  • Contact Cisco TAC to formally separate 123@com.vn from the parent organization (they'll need to verify authorization)
  • Use a completely separate email domain (like a Gmail) for the subsidiary's Webex account

The parent company's admin could temporarily grant access, but this maintains dependency rather than creating true independence. SO, the domain verification process in Control Hub can be particular about DNS records and verification methods.
