On January 17, Cisco announced new software that brings Cisco Jabber to virtual desktops. As part of a long-term software strategy and the Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) Smart Solution, new Cisco Virtualization Experience Media Engine (VXME) software brings Cisco Jabber enterprise-class collaboration capabilities – such as high quality voice, HD video, presence, instant messaging, web conferencing, voice mail – to virtual desktops run on thin clients and Windows PCs.
Cisco also announced support for new desktop accessories designed exclusively for Cisco by Logitech and Jabra. These integrated unified communications accessories enable Cisco Jabber for Windows users to customize their virtual workspace.
