Keep MWI lite with Unified messaging

We have Unity 3.1.5 environment operating as a stand alone Exchange Server in it's own site, but part of our Campus NT domain (for user authentication). On the clients Outlook, we added the Internet e-mail service (pointing to Unity as the pop server) and pass VM messages into Outlook via this method...

- Is there anyway to keep the VM message as 'new' in Unity (so the MWI stays lite) even after the message has been passed from the Unity / exchange server to the campus Exchange server?

- Or - is there a way to modify the clients Outlook to increase the delay before it checks the Unity for new messages?

Thanks in advance,

Doug

If you move messages from the Exchange store to the client's desktop, Unity will no longer have access to them - the lamp will go out when they are moved over - there's nothing you (or we) can do about that since the mailstore is our message store.

The only way to get around this is to have the clients leave voice messages in the Exchange message store instead of moving them down to the client machines. This can be done specifically for voice mails only if you want using filters (use the message class of IPM.Note.Voice.Unity for voice mails). Depends on how you have your clients configured, however.

Thank you...
