Licensing - CUCM SME

There is limited information available about SME from the collab 10.x SRND, and all of the documentation indicates that SME is free of charge with an existing CUCM infrastructure. I was viewing the San Francisco Cisco Live session: BRKUCC-2450, where Tony indicated (based on a question from a member of the audience) that there is a per-session license fee.

So, I looked up the top level SKU (SME-SESSION-LIC ) from https://apps.cisco.com/Commerce/home (quote builder tool), and discovered that sub-items (LIC-SME-SESSION  and CON-ECMU-SMESESS) have an MSRP price of $50/10 respectively.

What's the deal with licensing the SME? Can someone run this down for me? I'm having difficulty getting assistance from both my Cisco preferred vendor and my Cisco rep.

Thanks,

-Steve

I don't deal with licensing, but AFAIK, SME can simply be attached to your PLM that handles CUCM, and that would be it, or there should be a standalone license, if you wish to use the co-res PLM from your SME, that only gives you a few phones so that it doesn't complain about licensing, but it would be the same as asking for 5 user licenses for a regular CUCM on which you will register phone. I have no idea how many users come with the license, just said 5 as an example.
