I have recently purchased some ONEAC Convergent SeriesTM lightning protection devices. The packaging says it's designed for 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet applications, including VoIP phones with PoE. However, when plugged in to these, our phones do not register. Does anyone have any experience using these, or similar, third party protective devices? We really need the extra protection, as this site is prone to lightning strikes. Thanks! -Beth

Hi Beth,
Interesting question
Which Model are you using? It looks like only one supports
PoE.

Rob-
I ordered the RM-PELP100. It works great on a non-powered test switch in my office, but when we try to plug it in between our 7965 Ip phones and the 3560 PoE switch - nothing. -Beth

Rob-
I was using a 7945 Ip phone when I tested the device using a non-PoE switch. As you know, that worked fine.
I contacted ONEAC customer service, but they were little help. He had to look the device up himself - he was not familiar with the product. I may try to find a tech support line versus customer support. -Beth
