MGC instead of SEP

I'm trying to register 2 7940 phones with my Callmanager. It's not happening. The phone is getting power and on the top of the screen it says "Phantom Subscriber." Also the HOSTNAME of the phone starts with MGC instead of SEP. I tried to reset the configuration wit **# but the option doesn't pop up for the reset. The Ip addresses in there are fine. The Call manager is looking for the SEP ofcourse but I am unable to change it from MGC to SEP. This is strange.

Looks like you received MGCP phones instead of Skinny phones. The difference is just the phone loads.
