Hello,

I have problems dialing out as I get reorder tone as soon as any number is dialed. I have a fractional PRI link with 8 B channels. The D channel is up and the pri is configured for DID. I have seen numerous configs on this site and others that call for the following dial peer config:
dial-peer voice 1 pots
application mgcpapp
direct-inward-dial
port 1/0:23
I am not able to enter the port command as it is not supported on my gateway. Is my current config correct or do I need the dial peer config? Why does my gateway not support the port command?
With Regards,
Aaron

Did you repoint your new 9.@ route at the new gateway? You should put the gateway in a route group, and put that in a route list, and then point your pattern at it. Then hopefully you will be back to getting calls out anyway.
Then, because there is so much question about your partitions and CSS stuff, why don't you manually create a new partition, just call it Internal, and make a new CSS, call it testcss or something, and put the Internal partition in it. Put the phones and the route pattern in the Internal partition, and assign the new testcss to the phones and the gateway, and see what happens. Also, grab that route plan report in file and post it for us.

Aaron,
Did you try what Mary Beth said - I really think if this does not work then you need to get a TAC case on this. You can get one time support for a fee and get someone into your setup and look at it and resolve the issue. Note your initial problem of inbound calls disconnecting with no user response was the exact issue I mentioned and was caused by the @ route pattern.

Hi Aaron
I think the missing port command is a feature of a newer IOS version possibly - not too sure though...
One problem you are probably having is that CM doesn't really support fractional E1/T1 with MGCP. You can work around this if you have 5 or less gateways as follows:
There's an option on the gateway config page - 'enable status poll'... this sets CM to monitor some service parameters that allow you to set some channels out of service.
The service parameters are on the CallManager service, called B-Channel Maintenance Status 1 to 5... If you click the service parameter you get help for it but the basic idea is you can set a bit mask that tells CM which channels to use...
Let me know if you get stuck with this...

Hello Aaron,
Thanks for your response, I checked the status poll box but I am not clear on how I can access the CallManager service and where I should but in this bit mask. Could this problem be related to why my gateway comes up as "not registered" under CCM Admin?

Hi
Basically checking the status poll makes CM poll the service parameters for that gateway (you can change the parameter at any time and it takes effect without restarting the service).
In ccmadmin go to the 'service' menu, then 'service parameters' - then pick a server and the callmanager service.
Click 'advanced', then scroll down the page until you find the b-channel maintenance parameters...

Oh - and no, this shouldn't affect the registration status... it can stop you getting outbound calls if you don't have this properly configured tho.

Hello Aaron,
Thanks again for the post. I followed your directions and found the required field. I have 8 DS0's on my PRI so I input the following in the Change B-Channel Maintenance Status 1 field:
111111110000000000000000
Is the above correct?

Hi
That's the correct bit mask, however you need to whack in the name of the endpoint as well - best is to bring up the gateway config page and paste in the name to avoid typos:

Hello Aaron,
Thanks for the clarification. I have the following in the field:

Do I need:

It's been a long time since I've worked on a VG200 but I'm positive the voice-port has always been created. What kind of NM and VWIC are you using for this PRI?

Doweiner - this poster had two thread going simultaneously regarding the same router, on his other thread he posted that he had a 2CT1-CSU in the VG200 - the thought was that this isn't a voice capable module?

I believe that if you are using timeslots 1-8 - then they should remain as a service state of zero. The one indicates a graceful out of service state.
I think you are looking for
S1/DS1-0@VG200=000000001111111111111110
The trailing zero is the d channel and shouldn't be affected by any setting you put here.

Hello,
Thanks for all of your helpful posts. I ordered a NM-HDV and a VWIC-1MFT-T1 and installed them in my VG200. I was able to dial out no problem and can reach any PSTN number that I try but I am having problems with incoming calls as they will not complete. I have two phones setup with extentions of 7002 and 7003 respectivly. They are 7940s. I can call from one extention to the other and both can call out to the PSTN but when I call from one to the other via the PSTN I get a busy signal from the calling phone and the called phone never rings. I also get the following debug output on the VG200.
VG200#debug isdn q931
debug isdn q931 is ON.

The above debug output takes approximatly 4 seconds to appear on my screen. It looks like there is some kind of problem between my phone and the gateway. I asked my telco to send me 4 digits and I have attached some screen captures of my MGCP config inside CCMAdmin. The PRI is configured with a DID block that runs from 3677002 to 3677030. If anybody has any ideas of what I am missing I would be very grateful.
