I have an analog phone that has a message waiting lamp, but I have been unsuccessful in getting it to light up. I know the VG248 can do it, but can an FXS port in a 2600 using MGCP pass MWI? If so, what's the trick? Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure it cannot. You might want to look at the ATA-186 or ATA-188 for these ports if the VG248 is too high-density. The ATAs support audible MWI (stutter dial tone, no light).

Thanks... if you're pretty sure it can't be done, I will stop trying to make it work.
