MXE 3500 Bad 192.168.1.3 IP Address

New MXE3500 installation running 3.3.2

I have assigned an IP address of 172.16.80.250/24 and I can web into the unit and RDP into the Windows server.

Problem is that the DMM that I need to integrate to is in 192.168.200.23/24

There seems to be a route set within the MXE for the 192.168.0.0 network to be on the internal eth1 and therefore none of the communications will work.

I have looked all over the documentation and there does not seem to be any meantion of the network address for the Windows server or how to change it to something other than 192.168.1.3/24

Or how to change the routes within to delete the 192.168.0.0/16 route and replace it with a 192.168.1.0/24 route.

Any thoughts?

Or do I need to open a official TAC case?

Thanks in advance

Hi Richard

You hit the following bug https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCtr74486

Please find the below link:-

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/mxe/3500/sw/3_x/release/note/mxe3500rn_33.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/mxe/3500/sw/3_x/3_2/integration/note/integ_mxe32_sns.html

1-There is no routing on your MXE.

2-To change IP address for MXE 3500 from AAI.

Richard,

I have the same issue on  a new MXE3500 V3 running 3.3.2 and I had to run a patch from V3.3.1 to fix bug CSCtr74486:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/mxe/3500/sw/3_x/release/note/mxe3500rn_33.html

Under the "Incorrect Subnet Mask Patch" section the instructions should read:

Step 5 At the command prompt, enter the following commands in the order shown:

cd /mnt/temp
unzip CSCtr74486.zip
cd CSCtr74486
./fix_netmask.sh

(takes minute to complete and displays "Patch applied successfully")

Step 6 RDC to the Windows VM. Navigate to the C:\temp\CSCtr74486 directory.

Step 7 Double-click the fix_netmask.bat file to execute the patch.

Step 8 Exit the command shell and SSH session.

That should take care of you.
