Hi,
Sorry for the newbie-ness of all of this, but here goes:
We're shortly moving to new offices, and I'm planning to use IP Phones instead of a legacy PBX. Here's what I've got in mind; stop me when I start talking rubbish:
- I've got a 2621XM lying around; I plan to use CallManager Express and Unity Express (on the AIM) for call and voicemail handling. (Is CME a VoIP "gatekeeper"?)
- I also want the 2621XM to connect to the PSTN (making it a "gateway"?), so that IP phone users can make and receive calls to/from the wider world. For this, I guess I'll need a PRI line, a voice NM, some kind of VIC or VWIC to connect to the PRI, and an FXS card for faxes, etc.
I'm in the UK; what do I ask BT for? Just a PRI? Do PRIs come in different flavours? I need three lines on tel number xxx, and one each on yyy and zzz. Is this feasible?
What NM and VIC/VWIC hardware will I be needing?
thanks for any help,
alec
