occasional no ring-back on E1 in Germany

I have a 1751 router with a VWIC multi-flex trunk card and a E1 circuit connect to Deutsche telecom. The user ocassionally hears no ring-back tone when placing outbound calls on the PRI. Here is the config for the 9T dial-peer outbound.

destination-pattern 9T

progress_ind setup enable 3

progress_ind progress enable 8

progress_ind connect enable 8

port 0/0:15

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Try adding the following command under the pots dial-peer. It might help.

progress_ind alert enable 8

I have the same in the netherlands.

Some PSTN devices are unable to generate ringback tone.

configure the "tone ringback alert-no-pi" on the pots dialpeer to fix this.
