Hi Forum

We have a small installation with 1100 mailboxes running om a MCS 7835 server with WIN2000. Unity is standard 2.4.6 sw. In the reception we use an IVR server to screen calls before they are being passed on to the reception. This IVR server has a bunch off CTI ports it use, and the attendant program they use is also using a bunch off CTI ports, where calls normally can get placed.
But trying to place a call from Unity via the operator handler will fail. It seems as Unity can not call a CTI based number, but Unity have no problems calling a normal IP phone via the operator handler.

Do the forum have any idea to what is going on

Peter L

If you place a phone in the same Calling Search Space as Unity, can you place a call to the CTI ports?
What happens to the caller when they try to transfer to the operator from Unity?

And the caller can hear a dot-dot-dot tone, and looking at the phone tha call can not be placed.

If you cannot make the call from an IP phone, Unity is not going to be able to do it either. Is that what you were saying, that the IP phone can also not make the call?

All the IP phones can call these numbers without any problems. The IVR number 89200 is just scanning the call to see if it is a local number or a call from outside. And if it is a local number it will transfer the call to the reception, which is a bunch off CTI ports.
These CTI ports can also be called from any IP phone (89001-89005)

Assuming that the phones can also transfer to the CTI ports (it's a little different than just calling them), Unity should be able to do it too. Sounds like you are doing release transfer. Try inserting a comma in the first portion of the transfer string. So if you want to transfer to 89000, make the SA read "Yes, ring a subscriber at this extension: ,89000".
If that works, please let me know. If that still fails, I'd contact TAC.

We are using the same calling search space on all Unity ports, and the CTI ports are also in this Calling search space.
