Playlists in Digital Media Designer 5.3

I have a presentation with two All Media Playlists, but one of those will not allow me to add a playlist created in Digital Signage to it.  I can't find any restrictions on this in the documentation.  Do All Media Playlists not play all media?

I have specific presentations for each campus, and for specific areas on each campus  As the administrator it would make it easier and faster for me to be able to use the Digital Signage playlists.  This way I don't have to spend the time loading each presentation in the DMD to find what the assets are and then find them in the Media Library to view them.  I have not been able to select assets and view them in the DMD.

Thank you.

Hi Michael,

I tested it in our lab for you and got the same result.

The reason for this is to prevent a presentation from displaying several videos on the same screen.

What is happening is that since we don't check in real time the content of a playlist, we assume it contains a video by default.

We don't allow a second "All media playlist" to contain another external playlist as it would potentially hold another video.

You can verify this by just creating an "All media playlist" that holds a single video and then creating another one.

You will see that you won't be able to add an external playlist on the second one because the "Video spot" is already taken...

Nicolas
