Poor voice quality - transcoding?

Hi all. I have two central CallManagers and two Unity servers (primary and failover) at a central site. Phones use G711 on the same LAN and use G729 when crossing WAN links. QoS is in place and working well. Users in remote offices complain about voice quality only when accessing voicemail. Phone to phone quality is great. I'm not sure where to go on this one. The Unity design guide says to implement hardware transcoding but where?

Hardware transcoding is performed at the source. In your case, at the central site where CCM and Unity reside.
