Hi,
Could someoneone tell me what the alert for 'directoryconnectionfailed' in the real time monitoring tool actually means.
Is this a transient condition or something to worry about?
I get this every 5 minutes or so, but the alert goes back to 'insaferange=yes' fairly quickly.
Is the connecetion failure between the PC where RTMT is installed and the CM or between CMs in a cluster.
Any help appreciated.
Regards
Richard

Couple of questions on the issue:
1. Is there DNS configured on the CCM and is the DNS reacheable? If DNS is configured and not reachable from the CCM, try configuring the loopback address for DNS instead or put in the correct DNS address.
2. Are you using Active Directory (using the Directory Plug-in)? If so, Set DCD Service to automatic on all servers in the cluster & start the service.

Bingo!
There were defunct DNS servers in the list.
Many thanks.
