SIP Servers in Cisco Terminology

Hi All

 

What are the explanation for SIP servers in Cisco terminology? If the all the server types are integrated on CUCM, what are feature or settings it would be?

 

Proxy Server:

Redirect Server: 

Registrar:

Location Server:

I have some understanding on it, I would like to confirm that.

Hi,

In Cisco Terminology, SIP Server is a Registrar, Redirect Server, and Proxy Server.

  • Registrar – Provides location mapping for SIP User Agents
  • Redirect Server – Re-directs SIP Requests when a user has moved or is unavailable
  • Proxy Server – SIP message router – can be transaction stateful or stateless

CUCM is Registrar and Redirect Server but it is not Proxy Server. Please go through this Cisco Live Session:
