Slow transitions between images

Hi. Does anyone knows if there is a way to  accelerate the transition between images (slideshow) in v5.2? The larger the images, the slower  the transition, especially in fade effect.

One thing to try:

Enable Caching on the DMP itself.

Use the DMP-DM, to check & configure this feature. Once you enable

caching on the DMP, Apply & Save configuration, Restart DMP, and run

your tests again.

Thanks for your answer Tomas.

I tried what you said but the problem persists.

Can you please provide a detail description of your presentation that is

experiencing issues?  (image formats, objects in the presentation, where is the  prezo stored,

what app did you use to create prezo, or is it just a playlist?)

Thanks.

T.

Yes,

The presentation was created using the DMM, v5.2, running on a 4400

Content is stored on a local server and uploaded to the media library.

I have tried many options:

*Image slideshows in full screen (1920x1080, 1280x720, etc, the smaller the images, better performance)

*Two areas: different variations (slideshows, playlists, tickers)

*Three areas: Image slideshow, video and ticker.

We are having the same issue.

We have the canvas set to 1920x1080 and then have "5 zones" on the canvas.  So zone one is basically the header of the presentation and is a flash file that pulls the date and time (size is 1483x102), zone two is the university logo which is a static image (size 424x235), zone 3 is the largest of all the zones, this is the first playlist and all files are .jpg (size 1477x884), zone 4 is the last playlist and all files are .jpg (size 424x743), zone 5 is a ticker (size 1908x78) and is an RSS weather feed.

Zones 1,2, & 5 are fine.  The RSS feed was created using Yahoo Pipes and besides being painfuly slow is okay.

Zone 3 & 4 are my issues.

Zone 3 hardly ever just flashes the images up.  Sometimes one will show for the time period, then the zone will go black and then the new image will roll down the screen.  Sometimes zone 3 will flash up the new image but typially it rolls down the screen.  Zone 4 usually flashes each image up but we do see that it does sometimes roll down the screen.

In 5.1 we did not have any of this issues.  All images flashed up but since upgrading to 5.2 it has not been that way.

We also have the suggested seetings listed in this thread expect we do have HDMI detection resolution set to 1920x1080.

There is a known issue with transition issues between contents in a playlist.

Defect Information:

CSCtd44817-Transition time is 5-7 seconds between two videos

The problem will be addressed in the next firmware release but there are some

workarounds:

1. Create a Larger File or combine content items.

2. Problem is related to syslog misconfigured in default configuration causing

browser to block.   This can be worked-around by the following MIB changes:

    init.syslog_collector          change to 127.0.0.1 (Default is 192.168.1.1)

    Using DMPDM:

If syslog is disabled, enable it and set the syslog server

address to 127.0.0.1, disable it, save and restart the DMP.

    Using DMM:

create a task to change the syslog server address to 127.0.0.1

    and deploy to all DMPs.

3. Disabling video failover will improve transition time.

I Hope this Helps!
