Hi all
Our network topology is below :
PABX --ISDN-->AS5400--ip-->AS5300--R2-->PSTN
Currently our client using PABX dialling to PSTN have to wait arround 20-25 second to get a ringback tone. but if they press # after dialed number it only takes 7 sec.
We already try to adjust the timeout interdigit 2 sec but still time to ring is the same as default interdigit timeout(10sec).
As i noticed this happens since we use dial-peer with destination T, when we specify the exact digit (.......) it runs okay.
But the problem using the dot is that we are using various number and hardly to create each numbering schema/dial-peer using the exact digit.
Is it correct to reduce the timeout interdigit to get faster call setup? why there's no difference when we adjust this parameter?
Any comment will be highly appreciated

Interdigit timeout is a parameter that indicates the duration the PBAX or CCM will wait after each digit is entered before assuming the user has finished entering digits. It does not necessarily mean that the time to get the ringback will reduce drastically when it is manipulated. There could be some issues and here is a doc on how to use the interdigit timeout with a CCM . You use this for understanding the timeout better.

Hi Sir,
Thanks for the reply, sorry but i still confused with the interdigit timeout. If the user are finished dialling, it waits 10 sec(default interdigit timeout) before procedding the calls, am i correct? so reducing the interdigit timeout will make the call setup faster? since we already tried to debug isdn q931 and it seems that when user finished dialling it wait such amount time before procedding the call, but when i tried to reduce the value, still the amount of time after user finished dialling have no difference. So i assumed that the interdigit timeout in our router is not working properly.
Any other advise?
Thanks and Regards

I'm trying to resolve the same issue on an h.323 gateway we just installed. 9T on my pots peers seems to proccess local an long distance calls within an exceptable time (don't know the exact sec.) but international calls don't get released from the gateway until about 12-15 sec. I did a debug ccapi on the router and see that the digits arrive from CM right away. The router seems to hold them for awhile before releasing them. Tried an inter-digit timeout of 3 on my Voice port but it had no effect.
I'll let you know if I find out anything.
