When a call comes into the system the recptionist takes it and tries to transfer. She can hit the transfer button once and dial the extension but then the the transfer button does nothing when she hits it again. It is still there but will not transfer. If you go back to the call and try it again it may work. Sometimes she has to do this multiple times before the transfer button will work. The phone is a 7960 and has been working fine until about 1 week ago when this started.

Is call waiting enabled? By default on Call manager, call waiting is enabled. Our receptionist had a similar problem but once call waiting was turned off on the DIDs on her phone she was able to transfer without any conflicts.

Call waiting is disabled on the lines.

Have you enabled fast start on Call Manager without enabling it on the Gateway? I've seen similar results to your problem from doing this.

I am having a hard time finding where to enable or disable fast start on the call manager. Could I get a little help with finding it ?

Service - Service Parameters - Call Manager and search for Fast.
You should find the service parameter H323 faststart inbound. It's just over half way down the page. You should set this to false unless it's enabled on your gateways.

Hi Paul,
Need know if the faststart function you mentioned refer to the fast connect in H.323 v.2 as the same thing? Does voip gw enable or disable it by default?
I have encountered some similar problem, or should i say the worse? when transfer button hit and dial the no. to transfer, "transfer" button does not show at this moment? It has been working ok
